Car Mania JHB pre-owned car dealership website mockup — Hyde Park, Johannesburg

About Car Mania JHB

Car Mania JHB is a pre-owned car dealership at 350 Jan Smuts Avenue, Hyde Park. They sell across 20+ brands, multi-point check every vehicle on the floor, partner with four major SA lenders for finance, and price honestly. The brand promise is plain — "Built on trust, priced with honesty" — and the redesign had to read that way before a visitor scrolled past the hero.

Client Profile

Independent pre-owned car dealership in Hyde Park, Johannesburg. 5.0★ Google review average. 20+ brands in stock, multi-point inspected. Finance partnerships with WesBank, MFC (Nedbank), ABSA, and IEMAS.

Scope

Full website proposal — inventory layout, sell-or-trade flow, finance pre-qualification, reviews wall, and a contact pattern built around walk-ins and WhatsApp.

Goal

Translate the dealership's in-person trust into a digital shopfront. Make the inspection promise, the finance flow, and the honest pricing impossible to miss on any device.

A Category Built on Bad Faith

Used-car websites have a deserved reputation problem — stock photos, glossy promises, hidden fees. Car Mania JHB had to look like the opposite of that, without losing the energy a forecourt needs.

Trust Before Stock

Lead with the inspection promise, the honest-pricing line, and the 5-star reviews — before a visitor scrolls into inventory.

Browsable Inventory

20+ brands of pre-owned stock, browsable without overwhelm — clean cards, real photos, no flashing badges.

Finance, Not Forms

A pre-qualification flow that respects the visitor's time — four major lenders, one short form, an answer in under an hour.

Walk-Ins & WhatsApp

Hyde Park is a walk-in business. WhatsApp is how Joburg actually buys cars. Surface both — not the third-most-prominent CTA.

How I Built It

Lead with the trust signals, then let the inventory breathe. Every section answers a question a wary buyer would ask out loud.

  1. 01

    Research

Read the category cold — what wary buyers ask, what scares them off a used-car forecourt, what makes a Google review feel real instead of seeded.

  2. 02

    Design

Clean direction — sans-serif type, generous whitespace, real numbers, real reviews. No stock photos of someone holding car keys.

  3. 03

    Build

Next.js on Vercel — inventory grid, sell-or-trade flow, finance pre-qualification, reviews wall, walk-in + WhatsApp contact. Mobile-first throughout.

  4. 04

    Ship

Deployed as a live demo at demo.covino.co.za/carmaniajhb — every section working, every flow clickable.

Selling Honesty, Not Hype?

Whether you run a dealership, a brokerage, a clinic, or any business where the customer arrives wary — let's talk about a website that earns the visit before it asks for the sale.

Redesigns like this sit at the intersection of Web Development and Design & Branding — trust-first identity, modern Next.js stack, mobile-first throughout.
